F-6c Spectre
The F-6c Spectre is my third entry into my 'Alternate Reality Cold War' series. Like the F-88, this aircraft is extremely similar to that of the F-4 Phantom of the same era. The F-6c is a multirole day fighter armed with heavy radar and sensors. Because of this the Spectre is not the most maneuverable aircraft that you will see in the series. In general however the F-6c Spectre is a very powerful and capable intercepter. I hope you all enjoy the aircraft! Fly safely and as always, have fun!!
Back-Story: The war continues! Although unexpectedly peaceful new weapons and airframe designs are crafted and put to the test every day. Several aircraft are built for the United States Navy and Air Force and many concepts are taken into consideration. A standout however in aircraft design and technological superiority is the F-6 Spectre. The F-6 would be the aircraft that would be the first to rely heavily on radar and air to air missiles. So much so infact that the early versions would not feature a gun. Because of this more than 3000 F-6s are lost in the Vietnam War to aircraft such as the MIG-20 and the MIG-22. Later versions of the aircraft however, included a gun, and defined the future of air combat for U.S engineers.
