Now: time for History:

"Alles Kaputt" one of the last german gigants

On May 8, 1945, a Junkers Ju-290, originating from a base in Czechoslovakia, landed at an airport in Trudering-Riem that was under US occupation. The aircraft was one of the last of its type and after a quick inspection it was concluded that it was in very good condition to be put into flight and sent to the United States.

The aircraft flew to Paris where the last preparations were made, an engine was replaced and the aircraft's paint was changed, including a new text on the nose on the port side that read "Alles Kaputt" (everything is broken).

The aircraft took off on July 28 from Paris to America, making some stops along the way and reaching its destination on July 31, 1945.

The plane was part of the exhibition of captured aircraft at the 1945 AAF show in Wright Patterson, Ohio between October 13 and 21 of that, making several exhibitions between Freeman Field and Wright Field between 1945/56.

sadly "Alles Kuputt" did not reach our days, it was scrapped in December 1946.

I have 2 versions of this plane, with the another in my classic "simple" format"

and the difference is immense! the "simple" version has 103 pieces compared to the 171 of this one.
