F9F Panther

The Grumman F9F Panther was the company's first jet fighter and the second in the United States Navy [US Navy]. The members of this family of aircraft have gone down in history as the first embarked jet aircraft to see combat.

The Panther was the most widely used US Navy jet fighter during the Korean War. He flew more than 78,000 operational sorties in that fight and was responsible for the first aerial victory of the war by shooting down a North Korean Yakovlev Yak-9 fighter. The total production of the F9F was 1382 copies, some of them were exported to Argentinawhere they served in the Naval Aviation.
