The SU-21 is a single-seat, all-altitude interceptor-nuclear bomber aircraft, created by order of the Ministry of Aviation Industry on January 29, 1970, on the basis of the SU-11 and designed to deliver strikes with tactical nuclear weapons against area ground targets; state tests were completed in December 1970.
