The Panzerkampfwagen KV-1B 756(r) was a modified version of the Soviet KV-1 tank captured by the German army during World War II. The "r" designation in its name indicates that it was a Russian tank that had been impressed into German service. The KV-1B 756(r) had several modifications made to it by the Germans, including the addition of a commander's cupola on the turret, removal of the original Soviet machine gun and installation of a German MG34 machine gun, and the installation of German radios and intercom systems. It also had thicker armor than the original Soviet version, making it more difficult to penetrate. The tank was powered by a V-2K diesel engine, which provided a top speed of around 30 km/h and a range of up to 150 km. It had a crew of five and was armed with a 76.2mm ZiS-5 tank gun, which was capable of penetrating up to 100mm of armor at a range of 500 meters. The KV-1B 756(r) saw service on the Eastern Front during World War II and was used in a variety of roles, including infantry support and anti-tank operations. Despite its thick armor and powerful gun, it was eventually outclassed by newer German tanks and became less effective as the war progressed
