Boeing - BAe Tempest II FGR.1
This is based loosely on an early Boeing concept model for the US Navy F/A-XX program. I really liked the look of the Raptor (ish) flying wing thing and thought I would have a crack at making something similar.
This is that thing.
The Boeing - BAe Tempest II FGR.1 - A stealthy STOL 5+++ Generation strike fighter, developed together by Boeing and BAe Systems to replace the RAF's ageing (I am assuming we are in the near future here - say around 2040 or so) fleet of Eurofighter Typhoons.
She isn't completely tail-less (a box of Smarties to the person who figures out where I had THAT) - but indeed looks like a tail-less delta.
She carries internal armament equivalent to the F-22 (4 AMRAAM and 2 AIM9X), plus four under wing stores points that can carry various explosive things. In the configuration above (medium range strike mission with anticipated A2A threats) she is capable of carrying an additional 4 AMRAAM and 4 AIM9x under the wings with 4 X ASMs.
When super cruising at 60% throttle she is reasonably fuel efficient, but if you have a heavy right foot, she will drink like a sailor on shore leave. Drop tanks can also be carried - but these are a DIY affair in this case.
No VTOL this time either. Using runways for the first time in a while feels... dirty, somehow...
So - the controls!
AG1 - Arm internal missiles
AG1 + VTOL down opens internal weapons bays
AG2 - drop outer stores
AG3 - drop outer stores
AG4 - Lights
AG5 - Activate "super cruise" (really a pair of engines stuffed int eh forward fuselage...)
AG6 - Nothing (yet - ;-) )
AG7 + VTOL UP Fold wings
AG8 - Stability assist system on / off
AG8 + trim - set pitch attitude (very useful for STO)
The stability assist system allows for short take off and landing.
Her STO party trick is carried out by;
1. Set trim to full nose up
2. Activate AG5
3. Full throttle
4. You are now airborne.
5. Watch out for the nose lifting too much - counter with trim.
6. once happy, de activate AG8. Note that AG8 can be used as a sort of "autopilot" too - as it allows max 35 deg pitch and roll, but always auto levels the aeroplane. This is handy for hands off flying of a kite that is very, very unstable.
SL is just as easy - simply activate AG8 (deactivate AG5 if active), throttle back to apply air brakes and use trim to guide her in. She will keep a neutral attitude and shouldn't stall until approx 90 mph or so. Just make sure that you begin finals quite a way out - she is quite slippery and doesn't want to decelerate too much...
With this, you "should" be able to make a survivable carrier landing...
Have fun!

I did, didnt I? :-D @JohnnyBoythePilot
Congrats, you predicted the future!
The UK's next generation fighter to replace the Eurofighter will be the BAE Systems Tempest...
@Tang0five Pip Pip, old chap!
Jolly good old boy!
