Also known as DG-54, or the "Russian Spitfire",the IP-2 was an experimental ground attack aircraft designed in the winter of 1935-36 by Dimitry P. Grigorovich. The prototype was completed in the summer of 1936 and was redy for testing when Grigorovich was arrested and shot. Production aircraft would have had ten .30 cal ShKAS machine guns in the wings and up to 500 pounds of bombs under the fuselage.
