Yak38M Forger
The Yak 38 was the Soviet answer to the BAE Harrier, giving the USSR a carrier based strike fighter. The Forger whilst VTOL capable is best used as a STOL jet although this model can be safely used either way. The real version suffered with power issues and often had difficulty carrying either a full weapons load or full fuel load so this model has limited internal fuel and just four simple rockets. Group 1&2 fire a pair of rockets, 5 activates the main gear but you will need to retract the nose gear separately, 6 activates the forward mounted lift jets. To VTOL you do not need the forward engines on, hover is about 44% power and you do not want to go much past 70% until you build some forward airspeed. STOL is best achieved by activating group 6, having the VTOL slide all the way up and pushing the throttle fully open, she flies off either carrier really easily like this, just shut group 6 off to save fuel ASAP, Airbrakes work with group 6 and the VTOL slider down.

17.4k karlosdarkness@RAF1 I've added eight feet to the fuselage and pepd the performance up a little on a new version just uploaded, not entering it into your challenge as your only allowing one entry but do go take a look.9.3 years ago

136k RAF1I do love the plane though! @karlosdarkness9.3 years ago

17.4k karlosdarkness@RAF1 fair enough it's a bit short in the fuselage.9.3 years ago

136k RAF1I am going for replicas and performance. I compare the aircraft size to the real ones, then scale speed to see how well they perform compared to the real ones... @karlosdarkness9.3 years ago

17.4k karlosdarkness@RAF1 ? What's the scoring system, I obviously don't understand it thought you where after replicas of Soviet era equipment.9.3 years ago
