Dassault F.16 'Milan'

After the successful liberation of France in August 1944, the war grinded for a very long period in Europe until 1948. Although ravaged by the war, France was recovering with the help of both the UK and the USA. One of it's first institutions targeted by the Pershing Plan* was the French Army, specifically the Land and Air Force. In September 1945, the French Air Ministry issued a request for a jet aircraft that wouldn't be too expensive and able to surpass both the Ho 229 and the Me 262 in performance. Not too long after, in December 1945, the Dassault company came up with a design similar to that of the P-80 'Shooting Star' and the Me 262 HG II.
In February 1946, the Dassault F.16, nicknamed 'Milan', received the approval of hitting the production lines.
This specific one was piloted by Pierre Boillot, a French Ace. Due to his pride for France, he couldn't resist not painting his aircraft in a colourful scheme.
In March of 1946, he was caught in a fierce dogfight against three Me 262s. After dodging their shots with lots of luck, he managed to kill all three of them. For this specific standoff, he was decorated by Charles de Gaulle (the then President of France) with the Medaille de Reconnaissance de la Nation, one of the rarest medals ever to be received by French Aces at that time.

While pretty simple and not that advanced, this beast holds 22 rockets underneath its wings and 4 machine guns. It also doesn't have that many pieces and flies around like a charm (although it's a rather speedy one).

*Pershing Plan: fictional plan that recalled for helping countries like Belgium, the Netherlands and France to recover from the war after they were liberated.
