[NO MODS VERSION]

HISTORY:

The F-17 Hawk was built by Outland Aerospace under contract by the Emeran Federation. The first prototype was completed in 1968 but the F-17 did not enter service until 1972. Two identical variants were made, one variant for the air force and marine corps and another variant for the navy. The navy variant was equipped with sturdier landing gear and an arrest hook. All F-17s come standard with hard points that can carry four long-range interceptor missiles, four short-range guardian missiles, and two external fuel tanks. Dual gatling guns mounted near the air intakes allow the F-17 to engage enemies even when the munitions have been spent. While the F-17 was intended to be dog-fighter, it could be converted into a ground attack aircraft by swapping out the air-to-air munitions with air-to-ground ones. The F-17 was commissioned by the Emeran government as a response to the Wombat built by the Siberian Union in 1967. It has since been considered one of the most successful air superiority jet fighters ever designed by Emera. There was one notable incident during the October Crisis when a single F-17 felled a whole squadron of Sidewinders in a one-to-five encounter. The pilot flying that F-17 was a man named Jett Fang. His victory in that battle was what earned him the call sign "Deathwing".
