[WEBW]Iranian F-5A fighter

34.0k Akali  6.0 years ago

Because in 1979, Khomeini overthrew the pro-US Barrevian dynasty, causing Iran to break diplomatic relations with the United States, and Iran used reverse engineering to dismantle and analyze its own F-5 fighters. Later, Iran developed two local fighters: Saeqeh Fighter and Azarakhsh fighter. This type of aircraft can be used with Chinese or Russian weapons, or Iranian-made and counterfeit American weapons.
The F-5 Fighter (English: F-5 Fighter [1]) is a supersonic fighter developed by Northrop Corporation in the 1950s and 1960s.

The machine is low in price, easy to maintain, good performance, and has short take-off and landing performance. Type A is an early production type; E type is a single-seat tactical fighter; RF-5E is a reconnaissance type; Type B and F are two-seat coaches; Type G is also called a F-20 fighter, a multi-role fighter for export . The F-5 fighter is nicknamed "Tiger," and the F-20 is nicknamed "Tigershark."
The F-5 fighter jet flew for the first time on July 30, 1959, and was equipped with the US military in 1962. The United States produced 1,871 F-5 series fighters and 776 aircraft in other countries [2]. The aircraft was sold to 21 countries and regions around the world, forming a "three-legged" situation in the international arms trade with the French Mirage III and the Soviet MiG-21.

Development background

The development of the F-5 dates back to 1954, when Northrop Corporation sent a team to visit Europe and Asia to understand the defense needs of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and Southeast Asian treaty countries. Based on the results of the visit, the company decided to invest in a supersonic fighter, and the aircraft should be relatively cheap, easy to maintain, and can take off and land from short runways and secondary airports and even aircraft carriers.

Nice jet! Landing gear are pretty cool and i like the working canopy. Only complaint is the look of the engines, they're simple compared to the rest of the build
Also, a minor correction: The F-5A was not called the Tiger, but instead the Freedom Fighter. F-5 designations were different between the variants of the aircraft. The Tiger II designation was given to the F-5E, which is the variant that most people are familiar with today.
    Stay building man :)
