15 darkofthearmy  one year ago

Developed in 1976 by Freedom Aerospace to win the MRAF (Monarch Republic Air Force) Tactical Fighter Program, The F-31 was not selected. However, FA decided to resubmit the aircraft in the MRAF Nuclear Strike Fighter Program in 1980. This time the F-31 was selected and production of the aircraft started. First equipped to the famous No. 5 SQN of 173rd Strike Wing, it quickly gained a reputation that led to the nickname 'Suicide Pidgeon' due to the not standard grey camo and its tendency to lose control under 500 km/h. the MRAF continued to use it and it saw large use in the Canyon Wars in 1981-1983 until it was removed from service in 1985. AG1 activates short range mode: IR missile seekers go live and flares are selected AG2 activates long range mode: Radar missile are primed and chaff is selected AG3 activates ground attack mode: bombs are primed AG4 activates Nuclear mode if TN Bomb equipped, drops fuel tank if that is equipped instead. If you wish you can swap out the nuclear bomb for the fuel tank by grabbing the detacher on top of the fuel tank and connecting it to the pylon.
