The Supermarine Attacker provided the British Fleet Air Arm with it's first real foothold in Jet technology, in spite of it's sub-par top-speed, handling, and the inherant difficulties in flying a tail-dragger on and of of a carrier deck, the type was used in small numbers from 1951-1954. The aircraft made use of the Spiteful's Laminar-Flow wings, making the type faster to produce as far as it's first prototypes and earliest production models go.
