1: Landing Lights, 2: Navlights/Strobes, 3: Wing Lights, 4: Cabin Lights, 5: Cockpit Lights, 6: Fuel Boom, 7: F.A.B.L.S.S Deployment, 8: Flaperons. In the 70's Ridge Aircraft Corporation developed a business class aircraft targeted to lower to mid range customers. The aircraft was a proven airframe and served well into the 80's. In response to Dassault's efforts of modifying Falcon jets to become attack-role aircraft, Ridge began modifying their 600 series jets in tandem with Dassault. The Ridge ARM600 became an adopted platform for the U.S Navy to supplement the anti-naval efforts along the US coastline. A squadron of ARM's were retired shortly after the Gulf War and turned over to the USCG. Ridge was contracted to modify the fleet of aircraft into more effective Search & Rescue aircraft. The new Ridge SAR88 platform became a popular jet in the Coast Guard as it could intercept drug boats and S.O.S calls rapidly and use its F.A.B.L.S.S (Flotation Assisted Beacon, Life Support System ) module to deploy rescue equipment and a locator strobe to save the lives of those out of the range of immediate helicopter rescue.
