Ship History

The MV New Atlantica is a cruiseferry owned by Ocean Network Line serving the Manila-Batangas-Iloilo-Bacolod and vice versa routes.

She started her life in 1987 as the MS Ferry Tosa owned by Kirisame Line and served between the Sendai and Nagoya which she took a 24 hour voyage between the two cities corvering 770 km and had a top speed of 24 knots

She was sold to Ocean Network Line in 2012 together with its former fleetmate the M/V Ferry Kagoshima(Future M/V Venus) and was retrofitted in the Ouano Wharf with a new stern cargo ramp and a passenger gangway.

She had an incident in 2015 after departing for Iloilo bound for Bacolod near Siete Pencados Islands where she started to list 7° degrees to port and had to be tugged back to the port Iloilo where unscure load caused it to develop a list.At around 2 pm the next morning the issue was fixed and she later continued to Bacolod and back to Manila.
