MAE Mercury Mk. II
With JAC dominating the market with superb land based aircraft, MAE returned to their roots and revisited their Mercury VTOL carrier based multi-role fighter. After extending the air-frame, rebuilding the wings to include CWT and adding another internal engine to bring the total to 5, the result was a carrier based fighter with an obscene rate of climb, staggering agility and blinding speed. Said to be the cause of more g-force induced black-outs than any aircraft before it, the VTOL Mercury Mk. II was a difficult beast to fly and required a skilled pilot. In the hands of one who was up to the task, however, the new Mercury was more than a match for any land based system. Orders from navies and fleet air arms who could afford the steep cost came flooding in. MAE was back on the map.
