Carrier Borne Aircraft Challenge (Try 2) CLOSED
Well since last time I was too vague, and ended up with more carriers than aircraft for the carriers, but this time, no confusion! So here’s the challenge, an aircraft specifically built for carriers, so tailhooks and folding wings are necessary. You can make it any role you want, from any era you want, dive bomber from WWII, early warning from today, even a WWI scout if you want. Here’s the catch, must be a successor and a completely new design(you can do a real life aircraft if you want, but fictional is always fun), you can base it off old designs, but must be different and new, also be yours, no plaigerism. Helicopters and VTOL aircraft are not allowed either, only fixed wing. Points will be given for the following: Design and story behind the aircaft, including it’s role, why it was designed, and originality and realism; Handling, including ease of taxiing and landing on the USS Beast; and of course, General Flight Characteristics, how well does it fly, and is it suitable to it’s role (i.e. having a cargo plane doing 500mph loops is not a real feasable option). Points get deducted immediatly if there’s no folding wing mechanism or tail hook. XML and Overload or allowed, try to make it mobile friendly please. End date is April 30th, 2020, so you guys can have time to create, test, and tweak your designs. I hope to see some great aircraft!
Edit: Due to some scheduling issues, the contest is extended to May 11th, I apologize for the unexpected jump, but it must be done.

Apologies for the hiatus and very late comments, but I was gone for a decent while due to personal reasons, and next week I can start my testing of these airplanes when I get home, sorry again for the wait, but I appreciate all who participated
Where are the results? I have been waiting for months!
Yo are you alright over there dude
The results are coming soon right?
@SchadeAircaftCompany hey I posted my entry did you see it?
I made my entry
Are we able to heavily modify a build that isn’t ours and enter it in the challenge?
Does it have to be a successor?
@SchadeAircaftCompany Okay thank you
They did have arresting hooks on some of them, more like a bunch of them that they hoped would hit a grid of rope, but the wing folding would be exempt on a WWI design as being necessary@lilgreen06
how could a WWI plane go on the carrier if they don't have foldable wings or an arresting hook? you have to remember some of the first WWI planes were made out of fabric.
The USS Beast, for take off and landing@ThePropellerIsAFan
@SchadeAircaftCompany Which aircraft carrier will you be making the flights from?
So say you make a cargo plane like the C-2 Greyhound, that thing won’t be pulling high G maneuvers at like 500 mph, it’s just not realistic@DerpyCookie17
Excuse me, uhm, suitable t it’s role? Wha-
Do you mean is it’s performance realistic?
Well perfect timing then lol@Trijets
Sorry, I’m not familiar with it@FearlessAce
@SchadeAircaftCompany you don't remember the D-day challenge? If not, don't bother.
I am working on a carrier borne aircraft too lol
Your cargo plane?@FearlessAce
@SchadeAircaftCompany I'm guessing that's my cargo plane?
@SchadeAircaftCompany I'll be joining!
@SchadeAircaftCompany so easy lol
@SchadeAircaftCompany I finished my UFO project with a failure so I can join your challenge.
I will try to make something
