DC-9-51 airbone early warning aircraft, with more realistic weight, thrust and aerodynamic specification. New feature: 3 radar operator stations are added. Crew: 2 pilots plus 3 radar operators and 2 engineers. DC-9-51 AEW is based on DC-9-32 aircraft fuselage and wings, but equipped with stronger engines equipped on DC-9-51, and have the same MTOW as DC-9-51 do, which is 6 tons heavier. Estimated range is 2500 nautical miles plus 45 mins reserve. Estimated to cruise for 6 hours, and equip larger radar than E-2s.
Also equipped missile countermeasures.Imagined to equip with 4 AESA radars with 360-degree sight.
