The F-100 Super Saber was developed in the United States by North American Aviation from the F-86 Sabre between 1951 and 1953 it was the first of the USAF Century series and the first USAF jet that could fly supersonic in level flight. Its use in the fighter bomber/wild weasel role during the Vietnam War made it famous before being retired in 1979.
