YF-60 V-1
NOTE- This is a Heavy fighter/Interceptor, it can be used as a regular fighter, but it was designed for anti bomber roles. (fictional History) The XF-60 program began with a concept for a naval fighter-bomber capable of landing on a carrier deck and/or water. the first proposal for the XF-60 designed by Aero Systems (fictional design bureau) won out over the Lockheed and Grumman proposals. the design for the then XF-60 V-0 or XP-60 was similar to the YF-60 apart from the integrated fuel pods in the wings were floats. after testing showed the float idea was too unstable, they switched to a low tail dragging configuration. this squat stature was to enable it to be carried in small destroyers, submarines, and to allow ease of maintainence for ground crews, but issues with the Pratt and Whitney R-2800 engine and the Prop striking the ground ended the program after the first prototype completed testing.
