Carrier Landing Instructions (BETA)
• Start from Wright airport.
• Drop remaining fuel tanks and weapons.
• Maintain 3,000ft altitude.
• Head for starboard destroyer.
• Deploy Tailhook and landing gear.
• Insure wings are out and locked.
• At 3mi out, slow to stall speed by adjusting trim and applying speed brakes. *
• Switch to tailhook cam.
• Glide path should follow these guidelines: 3mi-3kft, 2mi-2kft, 1mi-1kft
• While maintaining decent, keep pointed at starboard destroyer. **
• Around .6mi-600ft turn to aim at the lower left hand corner of the carrier box (or runway if visible).
• Arround .2mi-200ft if no visual is made with the carrier turn slightly left to avoid tower.
• Just before touch down pull slightly back and apply brakes until stopped.

* Optimal decent rate is achieved by using the speed brakes and trim. At 3mi-3kft trim should be 1 notch down, use speed brake to level plane. At 2mi-2kft you should be at 1.5 notches down, plane level. By 1.5mi-1.5kft you should be 2 notches(all the way) down leveling with speed brake.
** Aim, point, and steer with the blue dot on the attitude indicator. This is what you want to have lined up with the carrier deck. You will go where this dot points if gliding properly with trim and speed brakes.
