Before the outbreak of WWII Germany was looking for a new dive bombers and ground attack aircraft, the Hutter brothers who were orginally glider desginers, tried to meet RLM specifications for a dive bomber with the performance of fighters of the time, both the Stubo I and II had no proper landing gears and instead would land on its belly and also it would jettison the prop on landing , but it failed to impress RLM because much more conventional aircraft were in the works
