Rees Quadra
A light bomber, featuring groundbreaking "Quadplane" (patent pending) wings and a mighty 180 horsepower "Gnomic" radial engine offering 1st-in-class performance. Packing a puch with a formidable bomb load of 350 pounds and a pair of "Chattern" 7.7mm machine guns.
The Quatra, designed by the eccentric Dr Malan Rees was his first serious forray into military aircraft, and his first design to see mass production, with 150 being produced in total, serving in the Amian and Marco-Florian Air Forces between 1922-30.
Nicknamed "Stork" by its crew, for its tall landing gear, the Quatra was noted to be generally quite easy to fly with very forgiving stall characteristics, although less well liked was its poor top speed and dire climb rate, which along with the substandard effectiveness of the Aerial Bomb Mk.1 eventually saw it retired after only 8 years of service.
