MFN-5 "Bloodhound"
History
The MFN-5 was the second Mawdfly plane accepted into service by the Navy. It was built to meet the 1955 Requirement for an ASW platform, but was later expanded to light ASM carrying roles. It was retired in 1988, and was used to great effect against Soviet submarines in the Second Russo-Japanese War in 1959 and the Icelandic Invasion of 1983.
Design
The MFN-5 is a dual-turboprop, 3 seat design. It is comparatively slow and unwieldly, therefore not lending itself well to contested airspace. Because of its low speed and high lift, it does not require arresting gear or a catapult to operate from a carrier.
Armament
3 MFH-5 Homing Torpedoes or 3 MFH-8 Light Anti Ship Missiles (Inferno)
Notes
Another remaster. It isn't really based off of anything, and I originally built it to do the WWII Destroyer Mission. Turns out, it shares characteristics with Cold War ASW aircraft. The canopy is a little goofy, but I figured it was good for visibility/hunting subs? Idk. Enjoy!
