So basically I got annoyed that the suspension I was using couldn’t handle the weight I planned for a project of mine so I stripped the whole undercarriage and proceeded to test some designs that could handle it.

Currently, this is a very simple, but effective, model of the Christie suspension. I’ve also colour coded the parts to make it easier to follow through with the description.

Currently the suspension has been able to carry it to 40,000Kg before the wheels start acting funny without any problems

Controls:
Pitch and roll to move
Trim: elevate/depress gun
Yaw: traverse turret

Colour coding:
Blue: Hull movement forwards and backwards
Red: Hull traverse
Yellow: suspension connection points to the Hull
Green: Xml edited mass
Orange: suspension rotators

For the turret some Xml modding is required, for mobile users this is by default deactivated and can be activated in the main menu.

For turret traverse with yaw paste this into the “input controller” section of the part:
sum(-0.09*Yaw)
This will allow you to traverse the turret with yaw allowing for more accurate control
I advise you also mess around with the range, speed, min and max values to adjust the speed of the turret

elevation and depression XML editing is a bit more finicky when I tested some values. The min/max dictates the “range” of the rotators
To get more control, I set the range to 1 in “jointrotator” and left the speed the same
NOTE: the rotator range tends to default to 0 when entering the in game editor requiring one to return to the Xml menu and setting it back to 1

Feel free to use this as inspiration for your builds. I might post a more advanced version with tracks and cannon recoil
