P.020a-128m "Žaneta"
Ostpreußen Heer P.020a-128m
"Žaneta"
Hands down the most modern piece of ground equipment created by Ostpreußen researchers and designers, thanks to its new hull design, massive turret, and state-of-the-art rifle.
Turret
The newest and most advanced turret built for use in a Main Battle tank, the Mk6 turret, as well as a brand new development in the RH-128 with the RH-128A3 smoothbore cannon. While an almost complete redesign of the original RH-128A1 and A2 rifles, it's still very capable of firing the exact same shells with even more accuracy and velocity.
Thanks to the redesign of the entire gun, the breech is smaller than the original Rh-128, and the bore extracter works to a greater efficiency, this allowing greater substained fire for longer periods of time.
Alongside the Rh-128A3 is a MG15 15mm autocannon in a coaxial mount to defeat incoming infantry and help range shots if the rangefinder is somehow disabled.
Onto the turret itself, it's protected frontally by an estimated 2000mm of equivalent RHA thats to the mixture of spaced titanium slabs, secretive mixture of gelatin filling the air, ceramic and lamented glass composites, and the Haferkönig APS system.
Unfortunately, the frontal armor is nowhere near as equivalent to the sides of the turret, nearer to 500mm of equivalent RHA, but it still has the ceramic and lamented glass composites making up a majority of the armor. Lastly, the roof is the least protected on the entire turret, which is common across all MBTs. Attempts were made to counter this with the Haferkönig APS and cheek smoke dispensers, but it's only so much.
Crew inside the turret (Gunner, Loader, Commander) have access to a large number of optics to assist with spotting any enemy vehicles before they themselves are spotted. The gunner has access to a new 100x zoom optic mounted on the mantlet, while the commander has access to a 360° SITREP optic column near the center of the turret roof, the gunner optics, and the vision blocks in his cupola. The loader has access to the gunner optics (at 0x zoom), and control of the coaxial 15mm autocannon, to save the gunner's focus from anything besides firing the target and ranging said target.
Finally, the gunner can operate a roof-mounted 15mm autocannon if he stands out of the hatch.
Armor
The hull armor is significantly weaker than that of the turret, some 800mm of equivalent RHA frontally on the upper frontal plate (and closer to 600mm on lower frontal plate), its more intended for the P.020a-128m to stay in hull down positions and engage targets in such defended positions.
The sides and rear of the vehicle vary significantly, with sides having roughly 700mm of equivalent RHA protection thanks to the ceramic and lamented glass panels and spaced armor. Also, the tyres make relatively good armor aganst HEATFS.
The driver, intended to be the most protected crewmember in the tank, is entirely encased in armor 800mm of equivalent RHA from every angle (except top and bottom). He has access to the SITREP optic column on the turret, as well as a rear-facing camera next to the passenger entrance/exit ramp to get a clear picture of directly behind. The last set of optics are the vision blocks above the driver's head if electricity in the TD were to go out.
In case the vehicle were to ever recieve a critial penetrating hit, the passengers and driver have manual switches to blow the hinges to the rear ramp so it can easily be pushed open.
Versatility
While not as versatile as a combat vehicle compared to the P.007 series of Wheeled TD, the P.020a-128m is more intended to be an offensive weapon unlike the defensive nature of the prior.
Incapable lf being floated across any bodies of water like the P.007, this is made up for by the sheer amounts of crew protection thats on the turret and hull front. Add into the ability to carry 6 fully geared soldiers comfortably, and 8 less comfortably, the vehicle can produce its own squad of defensive soldiers that can cover blind spots significantly better and safer than peeking out from the turret hatches.
Although the Žaneta is more suited for urban and paved combat zones (best shown by it's near 141 kilometer per hour top speed, it's still capable of cross difficult and waterlogged terrain due to it being lighter than the average MBT fielded via other nations
