Following the development of the RU-36 "Lion" dedicated attack plane, the need for a high alltitude interceptor aircraft was acknowledged and development on this new airplane was started. The RU-37 is based on the RU-36 airframe, but with new wings, engines and a pulse doppler radar installed to maximise intercepting capability. Happy hunting!
