Type 091

China's First Nuclear Submarine

Lower Part Versions, includes one with and without torpedoes

Feeling interested in building something different, I elected to go with China's first nuclear submarine. Alongside this project I implemented a new system of guided torpedoes which use VTOL nozzles as opposed to the typical (and part intensive) wing engines. They work well, and come with a built in cavitation effect!

This thing overall came together surprisingly quickly, guess I've learned my way around subs that much.

NOTICE: This may have issues without ocean mod, especially on mobile. Removing the torpedoes or using the lowest part version will resolve this.

Directions (because I was an idiot and forgot to put them into the build)

Pitch for Pitch
Roll for Rudder
VTOL for Ballast
AG1 for Search Periscope
AG2 for Attack Periscope
AG3-5 for Other Masts
AG6 for Torpedo Arm
Trim and Yaw to Control Torpedoes
Switch to and fire the 'fuse' weapon to detonate torpedo (no contact detonation!

Features

Free Diving Capability

Unlimited Dive, full underwater maneuverability

Working Periscopes (and other masts)

Deployable Periscopes with camera control, simply click and drag the camera to move the view.

YU-3 Guided Torpedoes

Guided Free Diving Torpedoes capable of destroying any Submarine or ship.

For the longest time I am left wondering: Why the heck is this curated but my Lancia Fulvia (that I actually built a VR friendly interior for) is not!?

@FRIGGLES Bombs disappear below 18 meters, cannons don’t and when the explosive round has 0 lifetime it’ll blow at any depth. That said, the camera control is an interesting idea.

@MintLynx Well, why not just use camera ammimg to steer the torpedo.

@MintLynx why not just strap a bomb on the torpedo?

@FRIGGLES Also the winch is to ensure the cannons can be fired, since the torps use cannons with 0 lifetime on the shells in order to provide a means of detonation. The winch keeps the torpedo connected to the sub so those cannons can be fired.

@FRIGGLES You can find it in the Rotators, they're right in front of the prop. Interesting idea for the Torpedoes though

@MintLynx can you tell me this new Throttleable code?

@MintLynx You could've used camera aimming to control the torpedo instead of using winches, because the wings still work even if the cockpit detatches from the wing.
Same thing goes to the rotator

@Polska They’re the same thing as the YU fuse, but I forgot to rename them.

What are the warheads used for? (Not the YUs, the SET things.)

This is a good looking submarine, and it plays well, I love it. May I ask, what mod did you use for the ocean?

@SyntheticL if you asked on discord or something sorry I forgot. I mainly focused on remembering the tag requests on the teaser.

@Hellfire3627 Try removing the torpedoes, upping your physics settings, and/or using the lowest part version.

@Hellfire3627 It appears to have issues without ocean mod, especially on mobile, sorry about that.

How do you dive because i have tried to use VTOL, pitch landing gear, AG8, together and separately.

@ZWLenning Thank you! ^^ I learned a lot from taking apart Toscio and Willy's sub in the past so I'm plenty welcome to people dissecting my builds to learn from them!

    ah yes the glowboat

planning on making my own sub, ill probably dissect this to see how it works, cuz i feel like this is a brilliant model on how sp subs should be
