The Mikoyan MiG-39 is a prototype fifth-generation fighter aircraft developed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau as an air superiority fighter for the Russian Air Force. In addition to several names such as "Object/Project 1.44/1.42", the aircraft is also known as the MiG-MFI. It is also unofficially known as the "MiG-41", although MiG currently uses this name for the export version of the MiG-29OVT. Although still in the prototype development stage, the 1.44/1.42 has the NATO reporting name "Flatpack".
