Updated platform to test the limits of a torsion bar constructed of 3 rows of detachers. It is capable of twisting the triple string of detachers enough to cause catastrophic failure. Operation: Move the slider slowly down or up, watch the string of detachers wind up and eventually fail. Try again, but stop just short of failure. Activate Grp 2 to release the far end from its attachment point to release the stored energy. Try this both with the torsion bar loaded and unloaded. Activating Grp 1 releases all detachers with an underwhelming plop.

Wow the twist effect is amazing and when I release it it's awesome...like tentacles '-'
Thanks everybody for the upvotes!
Feel free to use it if you want @SpiritusRaptor
@Challenger Thats a cool idea...
Interesting. This could allow us to build rubber band powered planes
@SpiritusRaptor Just tried your ballista. Elegantly beautiful near flawless design.
@Planetinker Yup, that would work. I used 'flexible rope' in mine, but I think the detachers would be better... Just nees to be big.
@SpiritusRaptor Thanks for the upvote! I was thinking about using the torsion bars in something like a Roman ballista.
Very interesting results!
