As the Cold War between the Loganium Kingdom and Liuland heated up in the late 1950s, aviation development sped up. Liuland had unveiled a secret project that shocked the Loganium High Command. A new supersonic bomber was announced that would fly higher, faster, and further than any fighter or interceptor in the Loganium fleet. Worse still, the bomber would be ready in just a few short years. With the military budget already stretched nearly to the breaking point, there was no money to develop fancy new technologies to intercept this bomber. The Loganium government contracted the Demon Engineering, Aviation, and Shipbuilding Works to develop an aircraft capable of stopping this bomber cheaply, and quickly. Demon engineers delivered on those goals. The V25 was the fastest and highest flying fighter in the world when it entered service. It was armed with the brand new Interceptor-1 missile with incredible range, and it’s nose packed a powerful radar. The plane was cheap and easy to maintain being built of heavy nickel-steel alloy, however, it meant the plane could never be maneuverable. The aircraft entered service just 2 years later in 1961. It immediately began breaking sound and altitude records. Over 500 would be built. The interceptors appearance terrified Liuland and Western Experts. It’s immense speeds, large size, and impressive armament gave it the appearance of a terrifying air-superiority fighter.
