Bombardier Learjet 45XR
For SimplePlanes

Country of Origin: Canada/United States
Role: Business Jet
Crew: 2
Livery: Standard Learjet Factory Livery

Although it was initially plagued with reliability and maintenance issues, the Learjet 45 (LJ45) has become a respected mid-size, lightweight, business jet. It was Learjet’s first newly designed aircraft since the Model 23, but it still retains the familiar Learjet “look.” The LJ45XR provides upgraded engines, avionics, increased takeoff weight, and the ability to use shorter runways than other business jets. LJ45XR’s are sold from $2.0M to $4.1M, with an average asking price of $3.2M. Additionally, LJ45’s can be upgraded to the XR standard.

The Learjet 45 is mostly operated by private owners. However, it is also used by governments in Argentina, El Salvador, and Montenegro, some airlines, such as Ryanair, Airwing AS, and FlyMex, and the Irish Air Corps, Peru Air Force, and Oman Military Technical College. Read more...

Author’s Notes
- Fuel is unlimited.
- Trim and flaps are required below 400 km/h, and some trim is most of the time.
- On takeoff, I recommend 100% trim with 100% flaps. Get to around 225 km/h and pull up.
- On landing, use 100% flaps at around 200 km/h and adjust for glide slope using trim.
