A-96 C-1
(Fictional History) after the limited service of the FB-96, another more versatile, variant for Attack and light bombing roles, that can hold its own against enemy persuers. The FB-96 could in practice defend itself with its single 30mm and speed, but as jet aircraft get faster and AAMs get better daily, a new aircraft is needed that has a better chance at making it to its target and back to base. The manufacturers answered this problem by taking the mostly successful NF-96, changing the cockpit for a more aerodynamic model, the formerly glazed nose was fitted over with an armored steel plate, a 50mm M7 cannon for interception and destroying armored ground targets, and the second set of propellers on the engines where removed because it was light enough to maintain the same speed on a simpler mechanism.
