The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is a tandem two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather, long-range supersonic jet interceptor and fighter-bomber originally developed for the United States Navy by McDonnell Aircraft. It first entered service in 1960 with the Navy. Proving highly adaptable, it was also adopted by the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force, and by the mid-1960s had become a major part of their air arms.
From 1968, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) purchased a total of 140 F-4EJ Phantoms without aerial refueling, AGM-12 Bull pup missile system, nuclear control system or ground attack capabilities. Mitsubishi built 138 under license in Japan and 14 unarmed reconnaissance RF-4Es were imported. One of the aircraft (17-8440) was the very last of the 5,195 F-4 Phantoms to be produced. It was manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries on 21 May 1981. "The Final Phantom" served with 306th Tactical Fighter Squadron and later transferred to the 301st Tactical Fighter Squadron.

Crimson Squadron-
The Crimson Squadron is the Experimental Aircraft Support Squadron. Their job is to make sure that the Prototype and Experimental Aircraft perform well in flight. Prototype aircraft bear the same markings as the Support Planes, but they have a Red L.E.D light on the side of their cockpits, indicating them as the Prototype aircraft. It has been said that Crimson Squadron is currently helping with Project Keiko and has been tasked with destroying anyone that dares to attack him, even if it was accidental fire by allies.

Morning of October 10, 2015-
Two F-4EJ's take off from Hyakuri air base on a coastal patrol mission. The lightly armed Phantom was piloted by the young Lt. Teal with his instructor, Lt. Bazan "Blaze" Suzuki flying as lead. Then, two contacts showed up on their radar.

Blaze- "Alright Inferno, to bandits approaching with hostile intent, prepare to engage."
Teal- "Inferno copies, I'm engaging"
The Phantoms encounter two rogue Mig-29's and the planes merged, Turning the sky from a glowing orange to an ugly twist of Black and grey with missile contrails and smoke filling the air. The furball lasted for 2 minutes until disaster struck. One of the Migs struck Blaze's engine and control system. The fuel tank caught fire and the burning Phantom went into a flat-spin.

Teal- "Blaze! Blaze Eject!"
Blaze- "No use! Ejection seat failure!"
Teal- "Punch the canopy out, Please do something"
Blaze- "It was an honor flying....static... with you Teal, may your....static... Crimson Wings carry you home"

Blaze's F-4 crashed straight into a cliffhanger, Exploding completely. There were no signs of survival or an ejection. Teal gripped his joystick tighter, And aggressively pulled his Phantom around to engage the Migs. As if the Phantom responded just as quickly to Teal's rage, the Phantom turned around before the Migs had time to get a line of fire

Teal "Locked on, fox 2, fox 2!"

One of the Migs was hit directly head on, disintegrating the plane. The other Mig turned tail and Teal gave chase after him. The Mig deployed it air-brakes, but with a quick reaction, Teal made his Phantom depart controlled flight, entering a tumble. He then applied power and regained control. The Mig dived back for him.

Teal- "Big mistake!"

Teal could see the frightened look on the young Mig pilot, looking to be around the age of 19, the same as Teal. Teal got his target reticle on him. Relentlessly he pulled the trigger, shooting a stream of bullets in the engines and tail control of the Mig. The Mig pilot ejected and was captured while Teal returned to base. The Mig pilot today now suffers from PTSD, saying that Teal had the swirling red eyes of an inferno when he looked at him, and fired directly with cold-blood and relentlessness. He had never seen someone of his age look like a monster. He died from fright the next week. Rumors say that he relived the same nightmare,....

Of when Teal stared into his soul and burned it with his Crimson Wings.
