B-79 Insurgent
-Intro
This is the second entry for my fictional 'Military Aircraft of the Southern Republic' series. This is the SRAF's B-79 Insurgent bomber. With a crew of 2 and carrying 6000ibs of bombs this aircraft is quite the bomber. Other features: 4 afterburner engines (Afterburners engage >95% throttle), Airliner-style trim system, Specialised bombing mode and Fully functional airbrakes. -Bombing Mode
AG-1:Bomb arm and Bomb bay doors
AG-2:Horrizontal Gyros
-Back story
The SRAF needed a new bomber that would specialise in destroying airfields. The only three specifications where that the aircraft had to have >5000ibs of bombs, a crew of 2 and exceed 670kts. Engines where created by modifying the engines of the F-19. The aircraft prove so effective that it is still in use today after nearly 60 years. The Navy requested a Anti-shipping version which is still in development. This aircraft operated from SRAF Carrine Cove
-Story of creation
This aircraft was surprisingly easy to create. I put unprecedented attention into the small details, especially in the cockpit. It won't win any awards but I am proud of it.
-Flying this aircraft
The aircraft has a nasty tendency to pitch down due to the aircrafts COM. This aircraft is surprisingly agile and quick when the bombs are dropped. Also, I gave this thing more countermeasures than you know what to do with.
Hope you enjoy!
