This aircraft was a racing plane built for the Damascus-Paris Air Race of 1937, though in 1938 Bellanca re-registered the aircraft in the US and entered it in the Bendix Trophy, but unfourtanetly becuase of engine trouble the aircraft never finished the race, the aircraft competed again in the 1939 Bendix Trophy, it placed second, it was then sold and spent the rest of it's life rotting away in a field in Ecuador
