Un-assisted take-off, for the enthusiast!
Activation 1: Release landing gear.
Activation 2: Activate forward wing rotation (VTOL up/down).
Activation 3: Activate rear wing rotation (VTOL up/down).
Instructions:
- Forward wing: VTOL up = lift
- Rear wing: VTOL down = lift.
Take-Off:
- Start with 5% power, slowly increase to max of 20%
- You will need a velocity of greater than 60 mph.
- Activate forward wings (activation 2) and VTOL down one notch (smallest amount). This will give extra thrust and keep her level when flying.
- Ideally turn the craft towards the edge of the cliff (right if on south runway) and release the landing gear at the edge of he cliff.
- After take-off take power down to 5 to 10% to conserve fuel.
- Alternatively, start her in the air and let her range for hours using minimal fuel.
Notes:
- Forward thrust has been the main challenge. A balance between weight, fuel and forward thrust.
