The Zebra "HLE" (HighAlpha.Low.Energy) was designed as a sister project to the Matador "XDAT/Finale". Both projects were started under the PSR (Post Stall Research) program with the goal of creating a fighter that was highly maneuverable with no forward airspeed. The "HLE" is a highly successful project which has reaped revelations in the ideal COM and COL relative to COT as to smoothly enter and exit the pilots desired vector. It's low speed supermanuverability is nearly unparalleled. The airframe is capable of Cobras, the Kulbilt Manuver, the Herbst manuver, flat spins, hovering and 75° of slideslip in bursts. This is possible in part to the 3D asymmetrical vectoring technology purchased from Mod Corporation.
