Auto Credit Based on MAHADI's WWII Jets Challenge! (CLOSED)
Act. 1: drop tanks
Act. 2: brake parachute
The Curtiss XF-87 was the final aircraft to bear the Curtiss name. It was designed as the XA-43 in March, 1945, and over the course of the year it morphed into the XF-87. However, financial strain and numerous issues prevented its ultimate construction until after the war. However, had it proceeded on time it would have been able to achieve its first flight by the end of Word War II. It never entered production due to unsatisfactory performance and high costs. The offset nosewheel would have been there to make room for the 8 nose guns that were to be shoved in.
Blueprints from a book I have if anyone is interested.

@Pita yes but the challenge had a mandatory scoring on weaponry.
also, the specs had room for guns or cannons on the nose.
Oh @MAHADI
@MrSilverWolf but there was a mandatory "Weaponry" rating for all the entries. if no weapons, then it's zero.
@MrSilverWolf oh
From what he is telling me on discord the prototypes never actually were fitted with the guns @MAHADI
@MAHADI he got a temp ban at his request
(I'm just a messenger so idk)
@MrSilverWolf sighs. what happened to him? yes, it was a prototype but the specs include 4 cannons on the nose.
@MAHADI it was a prototype for a fighter he says
@MrSilverWolf also, take a look at this - Wiki
@MrSilverWolf but he tagged fighter. so if no weapons, then how is it a fighter?
@MAHADI Pita/asteroidbook has requested me to pass on a message from discord for him, he said there were no weapons fitted to them IRL
why no weapons?
