Dassault Hibou
780 TexJohnston
6.9 years ago
The Hibou was designed in the 1950s for the NATO NBMR-1 competition, which pitted it against the Italian Fiat G.91, which looked very similar but was less advanced. Dassault's Hibou was a matter of national pride for France, and the tail of the evaluation unit bears the French flag. The Hibou carries a 30mm Gatling-style cannon firing standard DEFA ammunition. It also has two hardpoints on each wing, but in this case it only carries two Matra rocket pods.
