INSTRUCTIONS: Trim slider 1/2 way down (nose up) for takeoff. Maintain level flight on the deck until 800 mph, then enter zoom climb 80 degrees nose high and aircraft will reach 130,000'. For landings, maintain 250 mph (approx 5%) on approach. HISTORY: Max speed: 955 mph at Sea Level (S.L.), 1700+ mph (Mach 2.23) at 50,000. Maximum altitude: 130,000' (Unofficial World Record). Approach speed: 250 mph. Built by the Northern Aircraft Corporation (NAC) and designed as a research aircraft to investigate the "slender delta" wing, which promised to yield high speed, excellent climb and altitude performance. This jet is definitely a product of the "less is more approach"...a zoom climb by Capt. Buck Reager, JAF, yielded a maximum altitude of 130,000', a world record.
