Introduction
Who doesnt like weird and wonderful aircraft like the original flying pancake and then followed up with the much heavier flying flapjack?
I decided that as the piston engine radiators already looked like jet intakes why not take it into the modern era with an RJ upgrade to create a jet fighter/bomber variant of the XF5U-1. Obviously this meant re-designing the rear end to allow for jet exhausts along with some other design alterations to assist control of a jet.
The aircraft takes off at about 90kts and is quite manoeverable at speed, easily out turning the aa missiles from beasts destroyer guardians.
Controls
AG1 for arrestor hook
LG for landing gear
And thats it barring up for up, down for down etc.
Armament
Similar to the XFU-1 this aircraft was armed with 4 20mm cannon (instead of the 4no. .50 machine guns) and was capable of carrying 2 1000lbs bombs.
