Image sourceThe North American Aviation NAC-60 is a conceptual supersonic airliner idea designed to enable commercial flights at extremely high speeds. The design goal of the NAC-60 is to achieve supersonic flight and be able to complete long-distance flights in a short time to shorten intercontinental flight time. The concept aircraft was inspired by military supersonic aircraft of the time, particularly models such as the XB-70, but the NAC-60 program was primarily aimed at commercial use. Due to technical challenges, high development costs, and concerns about environmental impact at the time, the model never entered actual production and no prototypes were completed.
