A Star Trek challenge was just something I couldn’t resist participating in so I thank the BobDaBilder123 for inspiring me.
U.S.S. KELVIN for the Star Trek Challenge. We’ve all seen the reboot movies and I’m sure you’re all familiar with the scene where Jim Kirk’s father has a stiff upper lip moment and buys the survivors time to escape.
Some background reading revealed the KELVIN was named after physicist and engineer Lord Kelvin as well as Harry Kelvin, the grandfather of Star Trek director and producer J.J Abrams despite being originally conceived as U.S.S. IOWA.
Unfortunately I was away from home on my ‘shiny’ new iPad so I couldn’t build this to scale as it crashes enlarging the saucer to the right dimensions (although I have access to the blueprints option now so I’m happy) As a compromise it is roughly 1/3 scale which bothers me somewhat. Speeds have been adjusted for the nature of the environment in SP so bare this in mind when going “warp”.

Also the lag on save after enlarge the craft is caused by drag points. Disable them will get rid of the lag. I mean all of them.
