G13-Octo1 MK8F Interceptor
The Octo1 Interceptor MK-8
The Octo1 was intended for air to air combat, with its powerful, 24 chamber M-series miniguns. It can fire at 6,000 RPM with its main cannons. It uses liquid oxygen to cool and increase combustion power, making it reach speeds of up to 2500m/s. With such devastating spread, it can destroy most planes within 3-4 miles of range or less. The design was created by G13, funded by the SAUC. The SA-SF (Supersonic Air-Superiority Fighter) project was kickstarted by the SAUC to provide a fast, maneuverable and cheap aircraft for Southeast Asian air forces. 8 designs were submitted to be prototyped and tested, but the Octo1 was the favored design as it excelled in speed, maneuverability and firepower. It can reach up to ~2400 km/h or roughly ~1400 mph. Maximum recorded speed was 2942 km/h or 1549 mph or just under Mach 2. The craft is moderately armored, and replaced the South Korean T-50 Golden Eagle as a main fighter in the Philippines, being much faster, locally made and 33% cheaper albeit weighing 3x more than that of the T-50 because of some lower-end materials being used.
The Philippines sold its 12 T-50s to replace them with 16 G13-Octo1s.
