how often do you use the block? how about having fun and trying to build World War 2 planes out of them? the task is to build three planes. 1. fighter (of any nation) 2. Attack aircraft (of any nation) 3 bomber (also of any nation) THERE is NO PRIZE, this quest is just entertainment and there will be no first or last places when you finish, just write in the comments, I also want to say that I forbid you to use ANY Fuselage blocks or glass please hear me and don't break this one rule. it is also not advisable to change the size of the blocks through mods, it will be possible to change the color of the blocks, as well as the size of the wings can be changed. just don't cover the plane with wings like a fuselage... good luck in participating in the quest

To be fair, wing paneling has been around since pretty early on. Look at SpiritusRaptor's first builds for example. And the first trailer for SP shows the technique being used.
