Welcome to the 2030 Reno Air Races! This year, as we enter a new decade, we want to showcase the newest technologies that are able to push an aircraft’s performance to the limits. You are to design a singe seat racing aircraft designed for flat out speed. Maneuverability is not a major component of this race. Your requirements are as follows:
- Maximum horsepower is 1,000. If you use two engines, each engine must have 500 horsepower.
- All aircraft must be prop-driven. This includes in-line engines, radials, or turboprops. Jet engines are banned.
- Detailed cockpits are not required, but are welcomed and will receive more points.
- Using Overload is not allowed, unless making flaps or other cosmetic features.
- The aircraft must have a useful fuel load.
- Using pre-made aircraft is not allowed, unless the changes are significant enough that there is little similarities to the original.
You have until next Friday, September 30th, to submit designs. All designs must be a successor to this post.
