Changes to this vessel as follows:

• Changed the entire ship's hull color
• Removed Minotaur Halo helicopter
• Changed the vessel's name from "EDEN" to "SARAWAK"
• Changed the vessel's pennant number from "D 67" to "79"
• Added the ensign of Royal Malaysian Navy on the right and the flag of Sarawak on the left

Use by Malaysia

In 2005, the Malaysian government needed a new destroyer to replace one of the obsolete aging destroyers. For that, the British (Batanian) has a Type 82 destroyer, which sometimes referred as Bristol-class destroyer.

With the only ship (HMS Bristol) is in service with the other 7 Bristol-class destroyers being cancelled, they instead purchased the decommissioned Eden-class destroyers from the British (Batanian). One of the original armaments for the Eden-class destroyers were remained unchanged, as the vessel was refurbished in the drydock. The newly refurbished vessel was then ferried to Malaysia, where the ship would be docked in Port Klang.

The vessel was officially commissioned by the Royal Malaysian Navy as KD Sarawak (D79) on 2009, marking the Malaysia's first destroyer to be commissioned. The other 4 vessels were later commissioned, afterwards.

On 2013, following the Lahad Datu standoff, KD Sarawak (D79) participated in naval blockade alongside the KD Jebat and KD Perak.

The vessel had also participated in RIMPAC exercises, mainly from 2014 to 2022.

All 5 vessels are remain in active service as of today.
