Controls:
Normal aircraft controls
Activate1:
Extend arresting hook (works only when gear extended
and TAS
is lower than 500 km/h.
Activate2:
Switch flaps to manual control by VTOL
(angle is limited by TAS
is lower than 540 km/h, maximum angle is available on 360 km/h & lower).
Activate3:
Deactivate weapon system.
Gear & arresting hook retract automatically when TAS
is higher than 500 km/h. Flaps retract automatically when TAS
is higher than 540 km/h.
Weapon system controls
HEPW is the auto-aiming plasma cannon. It aims automatically at any target that is located in 5-degree sector in front of the plane. This sector is displayed on the HEPW aim camera
.
When target is inside the sector and cannon is ready to fire, the circle becomes red
, otherwise it is green
.
Weapon system is active when:
• Target is selected and located in auto-aim sector
• Gear are retracted
• Ventral stabilizer is extended
• AG3
is off.

After Russo-European war in 2029, many European corporations were relocated to USA . In USA, one of the biggest aerospace corporations, Boeing, collapsed due to incompetent management. In 2032, the McDonnell aircraft corporation was re-founded by Alexander McDonnell. In 2039 USAF ordered development of nuclear-powered stealth atrack drone with newly designed plasma cannon. The McDonnell decided to design the drone project together with former-Swedish SAAB and re-founded former-German Bölkow. First prototype made its maiden flight in 2046. The drone, that was named HEPW-C and got nickname "Stork" for its beak-like opening nose, entered the service in 2049. These drones took part in global nuclear war started in 2052. Most famous battle in which Storks participated was Battle For Far East, when 20 Storks shot down the damaged Russian spaceship "Georgiy Zhukov".
SAAB-Bölkow-McDonnell HEPW-C "Stork" is heavy, stealth, high-speed anti-ship UAV capable of carrier landings and armed with long-range high-energy plasma cannon and powered with supercompact nuclear reactor with lead-bismuth coolant.
