This 'aerial cruiser', designed by Anthony Fokker of WW1 fame, was meant to be an allround warplane. Like the Mosquito, Me110 and Beaufighter, it could carry bombs but also fight heavy bombers. For that, it was armed with a single 20mm autocannon. Yes, I know. But remember, this was designed back in '35! Anyway, the concept was sound (fighter/bomber) but the engines were bad and the armament lacked. It was to be replaced by Dornier 315s but then the Germans came themselves.
